Lobster Trap Video (LTV)
LTV consists of a traditional two parlor lobster trap equipped with a time-lapse video recording system. We use it to study how the behavior of lobsters in, and around, a lobster trap influences catch.

Ultrasonic Tracking
We use ultrasonic tracking systems to study the behavior of lobsters in their natural habitat. We use the data obtained to learn more about lobster biorhythms, homing behavior, home ranges, orientation and attraction to lobster traps.

Bioacoustics
While acoustic communication is common in many marine species, it has received little attention in the American lobster. Recently, we demonstrated that American lobsters are capable of both producing and detecting low frequency sounds.

Berried Females and Temperature
This project was developed to obtain long-term records of the temperatures experienced by berried female lobsters (lobsters carrying eggs) and their eggs.
